An electrifying vampire hero

Hunger: The Energy Vampires Book Two Kindle Edition
by Jacquelyn Frank
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
I was thrilled, after reading the first novel, Thirst, in this series , that Halo was the next hero. What can I `say, I love the damaged hero. And Halo is definitely damaged. A hunter seeking out sycophants, evil energy vampires, he walks the line between good and evil as almost a punishment for all that he has and will do. Women to him, are disposable, as he always chooses ones he can walk away from, women who only want a moment of pleasure and forgetfulness. As the best hunter, he is `sent after one of their leaders who has turned sycophant. And the great hunter’s caught himself, locked in a room to `starve or attack an innocent woman trapped with him and become sycophant himself.
This is more than a simple love story. Hunger is a vampiric version of the Most Dangerous game and thrilling for it. That isn’t to `say that there isn’t more than enough steam to power a locomotive. There is. But the cat and cat chase is thrilling.
Ms. Frank also does a wonderful job with narrator’`s voices. She gives us a view into the characters through one liners.
I would have to say that Hunger was better than the first novel in the series Thirst
